It's been awhile since I have updated the website. Lots of things have happened.
Since then, my website has gone under a massive revamp. New layout, new format, new everything! BassGrabbers has also gone under a major change. The Eastern and Western regions have been combined into one trail. Essentially, making every tournament a massive superpot. Entry fees have also been lowered. For more information, please visit BassGrabbers.
Starting out the year, the season opener was cancelled due to weather. Icy roads and bank prevented the tournament from proceeding. Two weeks later, we fished the Teams division season opener, at the Trinity River on 4th Street. Everyone zeroed that day. Some of us had a few bites. I had a good keeper on at one point. Maybe a 4 or 5 pounder. Bit the Livingston crankbait, fought for a minute, then spit it out. Almost had that one won! So we rescheduled a make up two weeks later. My partner, Steve, and I dominated that day. We caught some massive fish during that tournament. Starting off the season with a win! The right way to do it!
A week later, we opened the Western region season with a tournament at the Trinity, at University. I caught some good fish that. I only came in with 3 fish. I had the other bites, just couldn't bring them in. Finished in 4th place. But still a great way to start off the season.
Fast forward to the end of April. I was looking forward to fishing Echo Lake. Unfortunately, circumstances took over, and I had to withdraw my entry from the tournament. It dropped me back to 15th in points. I just hope a can bounce back. Looking forward to what Beach Street has for me in two weeks. I won there once before. Hoping for a repeat!
This past weekend, we fished the second Teams event of the year. Once again, myself and Steve, took the win! Another dominate performance for our partnership. We're currently 1st in points. And, at this point, we have clinched our spot in the championship.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this season! I'll try to keep this updated as much as possible.
Before I go, I want to thank everyone for their support. All my friends, family, and sponsors, have done a lot to keep going after my dream. I am working with some great companies, and building fantastic relationships. A HUGE thanks to Livingston Lures, QuicKbaits, Hook and Bones, and Yourfishingfix.com for taking a rish and believing in me. I've been working closely with Santone Lures, and their support has been phenomenal. I announced through my Facebook and Twitter, that in 2016, I will be competing in at least one of the BASS Central Opens. I am super excited about it, and looking forward to expanding myself out there more.

It's a new year! New beginnings!
I had a great season in 2014. 4 total wins, countless top 5's and top 10's. But I was no match to the top guys there at the end. Congrats to Paul Corder for another Angler of the Year title, and to Nathan Montgomery on the ECS title! A great year for everyone!
And now it's time for 2015! First, I would like to formally announce a new partnership for 2015 with Chasing The Dream, yourfishingfix.com. Look to their website for a lot of great fishing videos, as well as tips, and helping anglers all over to achieve the dream. I am excited to be a part of the team, and look forward to a fantastic year, as I chase my dream of making it to the Bassmaster Elite Series in the future.
Also, not only will I be a competitor on the BassGrabbers Trails, I am now the Western Region Director for 2015. I look forward to a great year as director, and hope that I don't screw it up!
Stick around and watch for new things coming to the website. I try to keep it updated as possible!

It's been a while since my last update. So far this season, I've been keeping pretty busy. I apologize for not keeping everyone updated.
As you know, the last update I made, My partner, Steve, and I, won the season opener for the BassGrabbers Teams Trail. It was a fun day, and I'm proud of my partner for bringing in that last minute fish. Here's an update since the season opener:
April: Shortly after the Teams Trail season opener at Echo Lake, the BassGrabbers Western Division went back to good ol' Echo Lake for the individual event. It was a good day for a lot of us, for the most part. The bite was slow, and the cloud cover didn't help much. I finished the day in 5th place. I made a huge mistake that cost me a better finish. I caught 2 fish early. Causing the day to drag on trying to get some bites. Missed a few bites, as well. My mistake was that I avoided an area I knew was holding some good fish, due to the cattails being way too tall. I didn't want to have to cast over the cattails, catch a fish, and end up losing the fish, along with my bait, trying to swing it over the cattails. Everything lined up just about perfectly for that area too. There's tons of rocks around there. The bass really hang around rock because it warms faster. The sun came out, and there was a slight chilly breeze. So, that area would be on fire if someone were to fish it. I avoided it like the plague, knowing that it was a great area. With the last fifteen minutes left, I decided to just say the heck with it, and fish the area anyways (I should have decided that sooner). First cast, BOOM, a fish. Not a big one. But definitely a keeper. Second cast, BOOM, another. Still a solid keeper. A few minutes left to go, I got a bite, set the hook, reeled it in, and then lost it trying to sing it over the cattails. Ended up losing my worm with it. I didn't have enough time to dig out another worm. So, I ended the day right there with 4 fish total. Still a good, fun day. And I was blessed to have caught fish. I just made the dumb mistake of not fishing that area sooner.
May: A few weeks later, the Western Division hit Capp Smith Park in Watauga. I had high hopes coming into this one. I finished 2nd last year, and caught tons of fish. Having confidence going into a tournament is good. Having too much confidence, isn't always a good thing. The lake hadn't changed since last year. But, what they were biting, did. I still had a good day, and I caught 4 fish. Putting me in 4th place at the end of the day. I'm proud of the fish I caught, and finishing 4th. But, I made a lot of mistakes that day, that cost me. First, I committed to the south end of the lake, instead of fishing every area I could get to. Last year, I fished all up and down both sides. I didn't do that this year. Second, I committed to that jerkbait. Last year, I caught dozens of fish on that same jerkbait. I didn't even throw anything else because they were nonstop hitting it. Even fun fishing out there. It was a secret bait that not very many people knew about. I went in this year, with the same one. The day started out pretty well. Caught one, lost one, caught one, lost one. So my commitment that bait wasn't really a bad decision. After about thirty minutes of losing my 4th fish, they just quit biting it. My mistake was, every time I tried using something different, I tried a few casts, and then picked up that jerkbait. I couldn't keep it out of my hands, thinking the jerkbait bite was going to pick up. It never did. Which brings me to my other mistake. Fishing too fast/slow. Now sometimes, when you're struggling to get bites all day, you get frustrated, and start fishing too fast or too slow. A lot of people do it. That frustration kicks in, and it just falls apart. It's definitely something I need to work on. And, I've gotten a lot better at that. My day did not turn out how I thought it would. I did manage a fifth fish. However, it was a crappie. So, it didn't count. But, it was a good sized crappie.
A few weeks later in May, the Teams Trail hit White Rock Lake in Dallas. I went into this one feeling really well about it. I wasn't quite sure why. The two other times I've been there, I didn't do too well. And neither did my partner. Steve had a fantastic day, as did I. He caught 4 fish, and I caught 3. I'm very proud of Steve for having a great day at a place he normally has trouble at. It was a good day for a lot of the teams. A lots of limits were caught, as well as some big fish. Steve and I ended up finishing 3rd, and I won big bass! There was a long stretch of bank that I stayed on all day. I didn't have very many bites. But the ones that did bite, I caught, and were the fish we needed. I was fishing an area parallel to a bunch of reeds. I swam my jig passed the reeds, not getting a bite, and as I pulled my jig out of the water, I notice one single reed moving. I didn't think much of it. Maybe it was a fish. But, maybe it was just the wind and current moving it. So, I thought I'd make another cast and swim it by and see if a fish bit. Swam it by the reed, nothing. I thought, "What the heck, I'll give it one more cast." Swam it by that one reed again, BAM! A solid 5+ pounder. That one got my blood pumping really fast. About an hour or so later, I was walking along, and I noticed this little patch of isolated grass in a little cove. I knew there would be a fish in that grass patch. I put down my stuff, made a cast with my chatterbait passed the grass, and started swimming through the grass. Right as it hit the grass, a good solid keeper devoured my chatterbait. After catching and tossing it back after the picture, I had this amazing feeling that I called that fish right there in the grass. It really was a fun day, and I'll never forget those two fish. The three that I caught were the most aggressive fish I have ever caught in my life. I don't know what it was that day. My two big ones ended up breaking my line after I got them in. But, the fights were truly a blast.
June: Fast forward to this past Saturday. The Western Division hit the Trinity River in Downtown Fort Worth. It was an overcast day, with a decent breeze blowing. For some odd reason, the past couple weeks, I have had a really good feeling about this one. I wasn't quite sure what it was. I love the Trinity. It's one of my favorite places to fish. But, there's a lot of really good guys on the trail that knows how to catch some BIG bass out there. Not to mention, it was the BassGrabbers Annual Summer Super Pot. A lot of really good guys, with a lot on the line. Whoever could pull off the win here, will have to work HARD for it. And man, I worked my butt off for this one. After coming really close to a win throughout the first half of the year, I finally get my first win of the season at the midway point in the year, and my second career win in the individual trails. I was truly blessed on Saturday. I had the biggest limit I have ever caught in my life. Everything just lined up perfectly for me. And like I always say, If it's meant to be, it will happen. And it happened on Saturday. I had a blast, and caught some pretty big fish. I didn't get very many bites, but I caught all the ones that bit, except for one. I lost a MONSTER. I caught my sixth fish of the day, a 17" (3+ pounds) bass down by the railroad bridge. That one culled my smallest, which was about 13". I was happy about that. But this one fish brought me to my knees. I added up all my fish, and I was at 81" total. I was praying this was real. The biggest limit I've ever caught. It's one of those rare days you have on the water. I was on cloud 9 after that fish. After I leave the area, I'm walking along the bank back to the check-in area, just casting parallel to the bank as I'm walking. I get to this decent sized piece of submerged timber, and I thought I would kinda stop there and run my crankbait by it a few times and see if I could catch one. The first time I ran it by, I got hung up on some grass next to the timber. I jerked my crankbait out of the grass, and this monster bass annihilated it. It came up and I thought for sure I had it. And then all of a sudden, my line went limp. The sucker got off, and took my crankbait with it. Luckily, it ended up spitting my crankbait out. It floated back to the top and I got it back. But there was no fish on the end of that crankbait. Disappointed I didn't catch it. But, still on cloud 9 from the limit I already had. I got the win, and couldn't be happier. Even if I did lose a monster.
So, that's how my tournaments have gone since the Teams season opener. Sorry for such a long read. Thank you to those who have stuck around to read the whole thing. I want to give a huge thanks to everyone for the continued support and the congratulations on my win last weekend. I will try my best to keep everyone updated more often on here. I'm always updating on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, if you would like to follow me on there.
Next tournament is a small charity tournament in Joshua on the 28th. It's on a private lake. But you can check out the BassGrabbers website for details on how to attend and fish with us.

FEAR THE BEARDS!
The season opener for the Teams Trail kicked off last Sunday. We won! My partner, Steve Perez, and I, won the season opener. We have pretty much dominated the Teams events since it began last year. We won the first ever Teams event last year, and the season opener this year. I am thankful and honored to be partnered up with such a great angler. I think we have an exceptional partnership going. Once again, my fish were caught on the same crank as the Individual tournament the week earlier. The Livingston Lures Dive Master Jr. It's safe to say, that it finished the job. My partner, Steve, is the hero though. We struggled all day for the most part. Only managing two fish each. But, the last 30 minutes, Steve caught a nice one that went for 20 inches! That one fish gave us the win. I feel like I carried my weight, but Steve definitely caught the winning fish. Looking forward to fishing the next Teams event in May at White Rock Lake.

Well guys, a couple weeks ago, we had our second Individuals tournament on the West. We fished at the Trinity River off of University Blvd. It was a little chilly, and windy. And there was some rain. But, I managed to secure a third place finish! I was a little surprised, since I had small fish. It was a fun day though. It started pouring down rain with about 30 minutes left in the tournament. The bite slowed down after about three hours. There were some bigger fish on beds getting ready to spawn. But, they were easily spooked, and I could not catch them. I did manage a bunch of males though. Looking back, during the tournament, I decided to make a move with about an hour and a half left. There were lots of fish in my primary area, but they just weren't biting anymore. I think I would've stayed there longer and tried to generate a bite on something else. Most of my fish came on the Livingston Lures Dive Master Jr. One was on an H2O Express wake bait. And, one was caught on an H2O Express square bill crank. My Livingston did most of the work though. I'm very proud to have finished in the third place, after a rough start to the year at Joe Pool. The next tournament is at Echo Lake. And we will be hitting it during the spawn. It can be anyone's game out there!

A huge congratulations to my fellow Livingston Lures teammate, Randy Howell, on winning the 2014 Bassmaster Classic! This is a big win for Randy. He's one of the best anglers on the water. If you look at the results from the Elite Series tournaments last year, he made the Top 12 cut almost every single event. Also, winning a a Northern Open, double qualifying him for the Classic. It's great to be bringing the Classic trophy to King's Home and Livingston Lures! Congratulations, Randy! You deserve it!
Also, on another good note, the BassGrabbers Tournament Trails Paddlers Division kicked off the season with their first event yesterday. My bearded buddy, and Teams Division partner, Steve Perez, won the event! I am super proud of my partner for the win. Keep it up, Steve!

Opening Day for the BassGrabbers Tournament Trails was this past Saturday. And, it sure was a tough day. I only managed one bite, and caught zero fish. The one swiped at it, but I just couldn't get him to bite again. On the bright side, I did finish in 3rd place. Unfortunately, so did 18 other guys. As, we all managed to zero that day. We've had a crazy winter this year. Texas is known for its crazy weather. This was probably one of the worst winters in the last few decades. The weather made the bass all kinds of cranky. But, I can't blame it all on the weather. Fishing SUPER SLOW is a huge weakness of mine. I can fish slow. But not super slow. It's just one of the many things to work on. Hopefully, all the warmer weather will get the bite going again, and the super cold fronts are behind us.
The day wasn't a total failure. It was nice to get all the BassGrabbers guys back together again. I enjoyed fishing with everyone, and I look forward to the next tournament in March. It's going to be on familiar ground this time!

Yesterday (Friday), I had the privilege of hanging out with one of the greats of the sport of bass fishing. Mike Iaconelli. I was at the Texas Tackle, Hunting and Boat show in Mesquite, TX. It was such a great opportunity to meet Ike. He is one of the nicest guys out there. This is one of the biggest expos in Texas. A lot of great tackle and boat companies are out there. Some great deals. And some of the top pros on the Bassmaster Elite Series came out. On Friday, not only did I get to meet Mike Iaconelli, but I also got to meet Gary Klein, Keith Combs, and Brent Chapman. It's always nice to have a chance to meet a fellow teammate on the Livingston Lures pro staff. Today (Saturday), Chris Lane and Alton Jones came out. As well as, Gary Klein and Brent Chapman again. Sunday will be the last day. Admission is $12. And it runs from 10 am to 6 pm. If you're in the Dallas/Mesquite area, be sure to check it out. There are some great things. Even live bears!
Also, Fun-N-Sun will be hosting a boat and tackle show January 24 - 26. It is free admission, and free parking. A lot of pros will be out there, such as, Todd Faircloth, Jeff Kriet, Kelly Jordan, and much more. Some more great deals and special show pricing on boats. I will be working at the BassGrabbers/Livingston Lures booth, alongside Compass Adventures. Come out and have a great time!

The end of 2013. The beginning of 2014. This past year has been a great one for me. So many great things have happened over here at the SF Bass Fishing camp. I had a fantastic season. A lot of of ups, and some downs. I got my first tournament win. As well as, three second place finishes. I learned a lot of new things fishing with my buddies on the trail. Built relationships with companies and have been accepted for pro staff positions. I want to give a huge thanks to everyone at Livingston Lures, Hook And Bones, and GO HARD! Fishing Pro Tackle for the great 2013 year. 2014 is going to be bigger and better!

Hey guys! I just wanted to say thank you for all the support I've gotten over the past few days since I launched the website. So far, it's had over 400 visitors in just two days. Which to me, is pretty good. Like I said, I'm no Elite Series or FLW pro. I'm just your average bank fisherman, with big dreams. There's always a start to everything.
